The museum portal website is a very well designed website for its well structured user interface and creative layout. This website stands as a tool to navigate different museum websites to better sort the different topics someone from the public may want to visit. Instead of having to search through a whole museum database looking for a specific piece of information, the website lays out different museum websites that all specialize in something specific, and with this website being the bridge between all these different museums it creates a straightforward way for visitors to navigate properly. This seems to be marketed towards anyone who has the desire to use museum resources but don't always have the time to go to one in person. In addition to the casual readers who may be interested in a certain topic the website is also incredibly beneficial to someone who may have their career focused around history and making this website so easily accessible make it easier for those people who need to find specific information quickly without having to navigate through google and go through many different websites that yield no help in the long run. As stated earlier, the user interface of the website is very well designed. It is structured in a way that it displays each museum and what it specializes in first and some basic information about the website as soon as the page loads and then as you scroll down to where you can start selecting where you want to go it gets more complicated but in a good and useful way. The layout is not overwhelming, it displays just the right amount of information so as to not scare anyone away from using the website on account of most people having short attention spans these days. The way that as you scroll further down the boxes to click on to go to other places on the website the layout evokes the sense of a news website displaying all of the stories currently out in circulation, and for people just wanting to find something interesting to read about on the boxes of options there is a number displaying how many views a topic has to better persuade people to choose the popular sites. The website does a very good job at converting information in easily digestible sections to make for a more relaxed reading experience, the only downside with a well designed website that has lots of features is that it is often difficult for people who may not have as much technological knowledge to use, some people may see all the different options and immediately give up. The website does a good job of displaying historical information in a modern way that encourages people to look back on history because of the website's easily accessible design. The front of the page also has the option for a virtual tour of the website, which was probably installed because the developers understood that there was a lot of information and it may be scary. Overall, the Museum Portal website is very well designed for the public and it does good things for the topic of digital media because it brings new people to the topic.
